Creating DIY Mason Jar Candle Decor
Christmas gifts for friends and family made from the heart is one of my favorite things to do for the holidays. My husband has a huge family and every year I have made Christmas gifts for them. From Salt Dough ornaments to crocheted blankets, I truly enjoy creating homemade gifts. Creating DIY Mason Jar Candle Decor is what I chose to make this year and I love that I get to share how easy it is to create.
So Many Mason Jar Ideas
From floral decor to candle holders and even cookie jars, there are so many gifts that you can make with Mason jars, or as we call them in the north, Ball jars.
How To Create The Mason Jar Candle Holder
Items Needed
Ball® Collection Elite® Spiral Jars or BALL® COLLECTION ELITE® REGULAR MOUTH PINT 16 OZ. SHARING MASON JARS WITH LIDS AND BANDS
Glitter
Americana Decou Page
Sponge brush
Christmas ribbon, wired
Home Baked Cookies (See Recipe Below)
Wood circle
Paper plates
Flameless tea light candle
This is such an easy craft to create and is perfect to give for a gift or decorate you own home with it. First, be sure to wash the jar with soap and water, this makes it easier to decou page. Paint a section at a time of the jar with the decou page. Sprinkle the glitter on the wet decou page and then repeat the
process, one section at a time until the whole outside of the jar is covered with glitter. Set it aside to dry.
Paint the wood circle with the red or green Americana paint and let it dry completely, about 10 minutes. Paint the top only with decou page and cover it with glitter. Be sure to sprinkle the glitter over the paper plate so that you can put it back in the jar.
Cut the ribbon and tie a shoelace bow around the open part of the jar. Place the candle on top of the wood circle and place the jar on top of it.
How To Create The Mason Jar Floral Decor
Items Needed
BALL® SMOOTH-SIDED REGULAR MOUTH PINT 16 OZ. GLASS MASON JARS
Americana Metallic paint in Green and Red Berry
Sponge brush
Christmas ribbon, 1 inch wide with wired
Christmas floral, cut to fit in jar
Paint
First, be sure to wash the jar with soap and water, this makes it easier to paint. Paint the outside of the jar with the metallic paint. Let it dry for at least 20 minutes and paint another coat on the jar. I would do this 3-4 times, until the jar is fully covered. Tie the Christmas ribbon around the outside of the mouth of the jar. Fill the jar with the Christmas Floral.
How To Create The Cookie Jar
Items Needed
BALL® COLLECTION ELITE® REGULAR MOUTH PINT 16 OZ. SHARING MASON JARS WITH LIDS AND BANDS
Glitter
Scrapbook paper
Elmer’s craft glue
Scrapbook paper
Christmas ribbon, wired
Home Baked Cookies (See Recipe Below)
Cut a circle out of the scrapbook paper, the size of the lid of the jar. Decou page the scrapbook paper circle and cover it with the glitter. Let this dry while you create your bow. Fill the jar with your favorite cookies and then place the glitter circle on top of the metal lid and secure the lid in place. Tie the piece of ribbon around the mouth of the jar. This makes a perfect gift for anyone on your Christmas list.
