  • Cut a square of the blue gingham material so that there is still an inch on each side of the t-shirt when you place it down.
  • Cut two straps of the gingham material for to connect the square to look like bib overalls, (no more than an inch or 2)
  • Place the paper inside the shirt to protect it from sticking together when you are gluing the gingham material to the front of the shirt.
  • Place the straps on the shirt first, be sure to go over the shoulder so it looks real, you can glue the edge to the back where no one will see it. Then glue the end of the strap to the front of the shirt and the other end to the back.
  • To create a smooth seam on the front of the gingham square, fold the edge over and hot glue it to the shirt, do this on the other side, you don’t have to do the top or the bottom. Be sure to glue it to the outer edge of the strap so it looks like they are connected.
  • Hot glue the buttons to the top of the front, right below the strap.

  1. The hat is the hardest part of this costume, just be patient and take your time.
  2. Use the Styrofoam cone to wrap one piece of the brown felt around it to form a cone hat.
  3. Hot glue the end to the middle of the felt to hold it in place.
  4. To finish off the top, put some hot glue inside the tip of the cone and pinch it together, use the band-aid tip for this step, place band-aids on the pointer finger and thumb so you don’t burn your fingers.
  5. For the bottom of the hat, cut out a circle about 1 ½ inches longer on each end then the cone hat.
  6. Hot glue the cone part of the hat to the flat circle, pinching it a bit to give it some wrinkle. Let it dry and then add the straw.
  7. Place a little bit of hot glue where the cone touches the flat circle and start adding the straw, a little at a time.
  8. Once you have it covered, hot glue a piece of the robe around it to finish it off.
  9. For the shirt, glue 2 different colored squares on the bottom corner with a bit of straw coming out of it. You can draw a few x’s to look like stitches.
