You could also create this dessert with pears, berries, or even preserves. It’s a great recipe for those last-minute desserts that you forgot you needed for a dinner party or bake sale.

Items Needed

  • 1 Pkg Puff Pastry, Or Pie Dough
  • 4 Large Granny Smith Green Apples
  • 1/2 – 1 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 – 2 Teaspoons Cinnamon
  • 1/4 Cup Butter
  • Dash of Salt
  • Lemon Juice
  • Powdered Sugar

Puff Pastry Apple Tart Dessert

Directions

  1. Thaw your puff pastry for 40 minutes.
  2. Preheat your oven to 415 degrees.
  3. Peel, core, and slice your apples into thin slivers of apples.
  4. Place your apples in a bowl.
  5. Add lemon juice to the apples, enough to keep them from going brown.
  6. Sprinkle the cinnamon over the apples.
  7. Add brown sugar to taste, if you like your dessert sweet, add 1 cup, if not, add 1/2 cup.
  8. When adding the salt, you only need a dash, less if you don’t use all of the brown sugar.
  9. Stir your apples and set aside.
  10. Once your puff pastry is thawed, spread out one sheet and cut it in half.
  11. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  12. Place the 2 sheets of puff pastry onto the cookie sheet.
  13. Melt the butter and brush it over the puff pastry.
  14. Carefully place the apples in 2 lines down the puff pastry.
  15. Drizzle any leftover sauce from the mixture down the center of each pastry.
  16. Bake for 18 – 20 minutes, or until brown.
  17. The mixture may seep out and burn onto the cookie sheet, that is ok.
  18. Just remove the burnt spots once you pull it out of the oven.
  19. Let cool for 10 minutes.
  20. Sprinkle Powdered sugar over the pastry, and enjoy.
  21. This goes great with ice cream and a cup of hot apple cider.
