Spring Break Road Trip Destinations

Spring break seems to start earlier and earlier every year. I remember as a kid I couldn’t wait for spring break so I could go explore the neighborhood and go fishing. I’m still exploring, and I try to fit some fishing in as much as possible. Here are some of my favorite spring break road trip destinations. I love road trips, I just think you get to do and see so much more when you are driving to your destination.

Galveston Island Is A Great Spring Break Road Trip Destination

Texas is big, and sometime when you only have a week, you should go to a Texas destination, though some of them can get pretty packed. My family loves heading down to Galveston Island, though during spring break it’s pretty busy, sometimes that’s part of the fun. There are a lot of pet-friendly hotels, and restaurants in Galveston too. Here is more information on a spring break trip we took to the island.

Spring Break Road Trip Destinations In Michigan

If you want a great road trip, and you don’t mind the 20 hours on the road, then head to my home state of Michigan. There is so much to do and see there, like Mackinac Island, the Upper Peninsula, Traverse City, and the town my dad lives in now, Gaylord. But my favorite stop in Michigan is my hometown of Marcellus. Great people, great restaurants, and over 36 lakes to fish in.

Kansas City BBQ For Spring Break

Who doesn’t love BBQ? I know, Texas is definitely known as BBQ country, but the BBQ I had in Kansas City was by far some of my favorites. It’s only about a 10 – 12 hour drive from San Antonio, so this is one of those spring break road trip destinations that is completely doable.

Head To The West For Spring Break

And now for my absolute favorite place on earth, Yellowstone National Park. I’ve had the pleasure of visiting this beautiful part of the country 4 times now, and each time I am in awe of how beautiful it is. I highly recommend staying in Cody, WY, there is so much to do, and the hotels are great. It’s small enough to get that small-town feel but large enough to have some amazing restaurants and a lot of attractions to visit, like the Buffalo Bill Center Of The West.
