The Best 2020 New Years Celebration

WOW, there are so many phrases that I never want to hear again after this year. Well, one of these I will still say, a lot. But seriously, this was the year of uncertainty, insanity, and, well, good pajamas. But how do you celebrate the best 2020 New Years celebration ever? Keep reading and I’ll show you.

Wipe These Phrases, Or Keep Them

  • It is what it is.
  • The new normal.
  • We live in unprecedented times.
  • We must all “Pivot” (though this is my favorite episode of the Friends TV show)

Goal Setting On A Diet

Did You Bake Or Cook

I cooked, a lot. Everyone in my home was working from home, so that meant 3 meals a day, every single day. How long did this last? It lasted until June, or July, with the occasional eating out, well ordering out and eating in. I did bake a bit, but boy did I cook. It was fun at first, and then it wasn’t fun at all.

If you know me, you know I am not much of a cook, but I learned quick. I also learned that if the guys in my house didn’t like what I was about to cook, they would order takeout, I caught on to this really quick. haha

Big Things Were Created In and Out Of My Home

Let’s start with the most important thing in my life, well, almost the most important. The coffee bar was created out of necessity, but it was also something I had always wanted to create. This was one of the most fun projects I have ever created. I didn’t do it overnight, and truthfully, I am still adding to it.

Coffee Bar Excitement

The coffee bar was an exciting addition for the whole family, but also my friends. I started making coffee and lattes to go for the neighbors, friends that dropped by, even the guy that came and did my lawn work. I’m sure the Starbucks stocks have plummeted from the lack of my visits, but I do support my local coffee shops still. If you like coffee, then I highly suggest creating your own coffee bar in your home.

The Backyard Retreat

One thing about me is I have big dreams. The bigger the better, but my body does not agree with these dreams like it use to. For the backyard retreat, I decided to hire help, and boy was I glad I did. These guys did any amazing job on my deck and fire pit, which allowed me to concentrate on the pool retreat area.

Create The Perfect Cocktail

Many cocktails have been have been created in my home this year, I don’t even know if I have a favorite. For a New Years cocktail, I would have to go with my take on a cranberry Champaign. I am not a Champaign fan, but I do love ginger beer.

Items Needed

  • 1 1/2 oz Enchanted Rock Vodka
  • Cranberry Juice
  • Ginger Beer
  • Frozen Cranberries
  • Sugar Crystals, I use white and red

Directions

  1. Wet the rim of the glass with vodka.
  2. Sprinkle the sugar crystals on a plate.
  3. Roll the rim of the glass in the sugar.
  4. Add the frozen cranberries.
  5. Pour 1 1/2 oz of vodka in the glass.
  6. Next, add the cranberry juice, leave about an inch from the top of the glass.
  7. Finish it off with ginger beer.

What Will 2021 Bring

Who knows, but I do know I will be changing a lot of what I do. I plan on downsizing everything in my home, except my coffee bar. Traveling will become part of my life again, boy have I missed being out on the road. And I may just write that book I have always wanted to write. Whatever 2021 brings, I hope that you all have the best year ever, and God Bless Us All.
