Winter Travel Safety Must Haves

Fall Road Trip Must Haves

As a road tripper, I travel during all of the seasons. During the spring and summer, I run into rainstorms and tornadoes. In the Fall it could be anything from rain to ice to snow. But in the wintertime, you just never know. I have traveled in the wintertime when the weather has been amazing, and I have traveled when there is ice and snow on the roads. Winter travel safety must haves could save your life, or at least make things a little easier for your road trip.

Sharing My Experience On TV

I had the pleasure of sharing some of my Winter travel safety must haves on my good friend Kathie J’s show a few weeks back. We even created some yummy holiday cocktail recipes for when you get to your destination.

Icy Roads Can Be Dangerous

I really don’t mind driving in the snow, as long as it’s not white out conditions, but I am not a fan of ice. When I went to Michigan a couple weeks ago, we had an ice storm and then a snow storm. There are also a few other winter travel safety must haves that everyone should always have in their vehicle. I drove my dad’s RAV4 vehicle around which worked great because he has a snow button that made driving in the crazy conditions really easy.

From the massage seats to the 7 screens, that’s right, 7 screens, the Grand Wagoneer is a Winter Travel Must Have.

Big Enough For Santa

The spacious 3 rows of seating allowed me to pack everything for the trip and deliver a few Christmas gifts while I was there. Heck, I think this Jeep is big enough for Santa to deliver Christmas gifts on Christmas Eve. My whole outfit, including boots are from Jane.com.

My Top Winter Travel Safety Must Haves

  1. The biggest tip I have for holiday travel is to always have a black tablecloth with you. It serves many purposes. You can hide things in the back by draping the tablecloth over the items, that way when someone looks in your vehicle, they only see the black tablecloth, or nothing at all because it blends in. It’s also great to have in case it gets cold, you can use it as a blanket.
  2. Another holiday safety travel tip I have is to always have a warm coat and a warm hat in your vehicle like the Gobi Heated Apparel. Also, always keep a first aid kit, and great boots in your vehicle.
  3. Lastly, always make sure your vehicle is in tip top shape, check all your fluids. If you live in an area that is prone to freezing, make sure you have non-freezing windshield washer fluid. Check your tire pressure, and make sure your battery is in good condition.
