Create The Perfect “Big Game” Party

Create The Perfect "Big Game" Party

Create The Perfect “Big Game” Party

I have been watching the “Big Game” since I could talk. Our neighbors would come over, most of them were from Chicago, so I grew up loving the Chicago Bears, and I still do, even if they aren’t doing so good right now. We would always create the perfect “Big Game” party with all the yummy food and decorations, and of course I was in charge of the decorations.

Now that I am older, I still love to create the perfect “Big Game” party, whether there are 20 people there or just my husband and I.

Individual 7 Layer Dip Cups

Items Needed

  • Small plastic cups
  • Refried beans
  • Guacamole
  • Sour cream
  • Dom’s Chop Salsa
  • Shredded cheddar cheese
  • Sliced black olives
  • Chopped tomatoes
  • Chopped chives
  • Tortilla chips
  1. This is a really easy snack to make ahead of time.
  2. You can scoop the refried beans right out of the can or you can heat the beans up first.
  3. Place a layer of beans into the plastic cup, then a layer of guacamole, layer of sour cream, layer of picante sauce and a layer shredded cheese.
  4. If you are making them ahead of time, then cover at this point and place in the refrigerator.
  5. Before you serve them, add diced tomatoes, sliced olives, and chopped chives.
  6. Decorate with a tortilla chip and enjoy.

You could also create a 7 layer dip bar so your guests can pick what they would like in their individual cups, you can make the base, refried beans, guacamole and sour cream, ahead of time and place them in the refrigerator.

Mini Taco Soup Cups

Items Needed

  • Tortillas – I used low carb, but you can use what you like
  • Large round cutter or round glass to use as a template
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • McCormick taco seasoning
  • Hidden Valley ranch dressing mix
  • Bush’s pinto beans
  • Bush’s chili beans
  • Red Gold crushed tomatoes
  • Red Gold petite diced tomatoes
  • 1 Can of water
  • Cupcake pan
  • Non-stick cooking spray
  • Shredded cheddar cheese
  • Sour cream
  1. Brown the hamburger in a large pot.
  2. Add the tomato sauce, crushed tomatoes, taco seasoning, ranch seasoning, both cans of beans and a can of water.
  3. Let it simmer for 30 minutes.
  4. While the soup is simmering, preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  5. Now, cut the tortillas into smaller circles, about 3 – 4” in diameter so they fit into the cupcake pan.
  6. Lightly coat the cupcake pan with non-stick cooking spray or oil.
  7. Place the cut tortillas into the cupcake pan, pressing them to the sides to make a cup.
  8. Now bake them for about 5 minutes.
  9. Once the taco soup is done, spoon it into the tortilla cup, sprinkle the top with shredded cheese and bake for another 10 minutes.
  10. These are a great snack to make ahead of time and re-heat before the game.
  11. Place a dollop of sour cream on the top and enjoy.

Stuffed Cucumbers

Items Needed

  • Cucumber – sliced very thick
  • Dip of your choice
  • I used a spinach artichoke dip from Tastefully Simple
  • Bacon bits
  1. First, make your dip and place it in the refrigerator to cool.
  2. Wash and cut the cucumbers about ½” thick, do not peel the skin off.
  3. Next, spoon out the middle of the cucumber; be sure to leave a layer at the bottom.
  4. Spoon the dip into the center of the cucumber and top it off with bacon bits.

Table Decor

Table Runner

Items Needed

  • Roll of white craft paper
  • Americana acrylic paint in white and green
  • Sponge Brush
  • Thin paint brush
  • Deco Art green paint marker
  • Deco Art white paint marker
  • Yard stick
  1. First, cut your paper runner about 6 inches longer than your table.
  2. Next, using the yard stick or ruler, measure the length of the paper and divide it by 10.
  3. You will want it to look like you have the correct amount of yards for your football field.
  4. I used a ruler to measure the thickness of my yard lines.
  5. Because the paper is white, you will only need to paint the green part.
  6. Using the green Deco Art paint marker, draw straight lines where the yard lines will be.
  7. Now paint in between the yard lines, only paint one layer so that the paper won’t curl.
  8. Let the paint dry at least 30 minutes.
  9. Draw your yard line numbers either by using a Deco Art paint marker or using white paint and a thin paint brush.
  10. Let it dry and place it in the middle of your table.
  11. Now it’s time to fill that football field with all your Super Bowl snacks.

  • Empty cans, washed and dried
  • Brown construction paper
  • Americana acrylic paint in white
  • Thin paint Brush
  • Glue dots
  1. First you will want to wash and dry your cans.
  2. Next, measure the construction paper to fit the outside of the can.
  3. Draw lines using the white paint to make the paper look like a football.
  4. Let it dry and then place it around the outside of the can using glue dots to hold it in place.
  5. Fill the cans with silverware and napkins and anything else you will need for your Super Bowl party.

It’s fun to create the perfect “Big Game” party accessories like these football coasters for any big game this year.
