Yellowstone Is The Best Show On

When I first started watching it a few years ago, I almost didn’t make it to the 3rd episode. I just couldn’t get into it, and then episode 3 happened and I was hooked. Sunday nights became a “Yellowstone is on, no talking” kind of night. By the 2nd season I knew this show was in my top 5 of all time best shows ever. And episode 10 of season 2 showed me that love can conquer anything, and it showed me that yes, a woman can be a badass.

Heading To Montana

When season 3 came around I was in the middle of planning my second trip to Montana, and yes, visiting the Yellowstone ranch was on my list of “MUST DO’s” of my 2 week trip.

Darby Montana Is My Kind Of Town

Darby Montana is the real town where the Chief Joseph ranch resides. When I was in Missoula, MT I met a couple that knew the real owners of the ranch and they were sweet to share a few stories. Like how the crew paid the ranch not to sell the hay so they could use it for the show, or how you can actually rent rooms in the home when it isn’t being used for the show. I was also informed that from time to time, Kevin Costner would play in the local bars when they were in town filming. Sure would have been nice if we could have caught that.

Checking Out The Ranch

I couldn’t believe the excitement I was feeling as I got closer to the ranch. It was my birthday, I know, what a great birthday present. Unfortunately the gates were locked, but we were still able to get some great pictures and of the “Yellowstone Ranch” “Dutton Ranch” sign.

It Looked Just Like The Show

The sprinklers were running, just like on the show, and the barns were as big as they look on TV. We couldn’t see the house from where we were standing, so of course I moved in for a closer look, little did I know the house was no where near the barns.

My Butt Set Off The Alarm

I thought I should take a selfie before we headed out on our next adventure, and then my butt hit the gate and set off the alarm. That’s right, my butt. I ran away like a teenager that just got caught kissing behind the bleachers. I mean really, what did I think, Kevin Costner was going to come out and scold me? Wouldn’t that have been amazing, yah, that would have been a great birthday present.
